ATOL is a financial protection scheme for holidaymakers travelling on an air inclusive holiday, which is managed by the Civil Aviation Authority. This protects you from losing your money or from being stranded overseas in the very unlikely event that DERTOUR should go out of business. Our Air Travel Organiser's Licence (ATOL) number is ATOL 1839.

When you buy an ATOL protected air inclusive holiday* from us, you will receive a confirmation invoice from us (or via our authorised agent through which you booked) confirming your arrangements and your protection under our ATOL.

* The air inclusive holidays we arrange are ATOL protected providing either the person who pays for the booking is present in the UK when the booking is made or the first leg of any flight or flights we arrange for you commences in the UK. Bonn City Breaks

Bonn city breaks are popular with those looking for a relaxing getaway. The German capital is a city with a history dating back more than 2,000 years. Set on the banks of the Rhine and romantically known as 'The Beethoven City', Bonn is blessed with numerous historic sites, including the strawberry coloured Rathaus (Town Hall) and 'Godesburg Fortress'.

Everyone thinks of Bonn when talking about cultural music. The city's favourite son, Beethoven was born here in 1770 and has since been an ambassador for Bonn's culture and artistic prowess. Today, Bonn is a university city and a cultural centre with many concerts and exhibitions. The area around Bonn has many wine bars along the Rhine where you can enjoy the views of the 'Siebengebirge' hills where the famous Riesling wines are produced, making this a relaxing break from the cosmopolitan atmosphere of the nearby Dusseldorf City Breaks.

A winter Bonn city break gives you the chance to witness the city come alive at Christmas time, the old town hall transforms into a giant advent calendar with a window lit up each night in countdown to Christmas. Market Square

There are hundreds of little shops in the narrow lanes that lead off Market Square. The square itself is lined with bars, cafés and restaurants, with the beautiful Town Hall as an impressive backdrop.

Bonn-Bad Godesberg

Visit the wealthy Bad Godesberg district where you will find numerous elegant shops in the heart of the old quarter.

Brauhaus Bönnsch, Sterntorbrücke 4

This vibrant brewery pub is one of the most popular venues in the Beethoven city serving traditional regional food and homemade beers.

Bonner Brasserie Remigiusplatz 5

This restaurant is a bustling place throughout the day; from the breakfast crowd to business lunchers, shoppers enjoying coffee and cake in the afternoon, and people enjoying a cocktail in the evening.

Em Höttche, Marktplatz 5

This traditional inn enjoys a long and colourful history, going all the way back to 1389 and serves hearty, regional cuisine and the famous Rhineland beer 'Kölsch'.

Beethoven House

Beethoven was born here in 1770. Many of Beethoven's personal possessions are displayed in the house, including manuscripts and musical instruments. In the Vienna Room at the front of the house overlooking the street, visitors can see Beethoven's last piano.

Old Town

Stroll along the Romantic Rhine and through the Old Town to see Bonn's many historic sights such as the strawberry-coloured Town Hall, Minster Basilica and Beethoven Monument.
