Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Germany is famous for its breath-taking scenery, as it is located in the foothills of the country's highest mountain, the Zugspitze. One can reach the mountain by taking a ride on the narrow gauge railway and cable car.
Check availability >Garmisch houses various antique shops and is also populated by modern galleries which exhibit modern arts. Also traditional shops where craftmen sell their handmade products such as jewellery, shoes and clothing are worth a visit.
The restaurant Frauendorfer offers traditional Bavarian food like Schweinshaxe and Knödl. There is also a floor show from two Bavarian children folk dancing in Lederhosen.
The Zugspitze, the highest mountain in Germany, offers a spectecular view. Take a cable car to the top of it and spend some time in the café or restaurant. Explore the historic town centre with its narrow pretty streets or visit the Olympic Ski Jump at the Olympic Stadium. Also don't forget to visit the Linderhof Castle and Monastery Ettal.
