ATOL is a financial protection scheme for holidaymakers travelling on an air inclusive holiday, which is managed by the Civil Aviation Authority. This protects you from losing your money or from being stranded overseas in the very unlikely event that DERTOUR should go out of business. Our Air Travel Organiser's Licence (ATOL) number is ATOL 1839.

When you buy an ATOL protected air inclusive holiday* from us, you will receive a confirmation invoice from us (or via our authorised agent through which you booked) confirming your arrangements and your protection under our ATOL.

* The air inclusive holidays we arrange are ATOL protected providing either the person who pays for the booking is present in the UK when the booking is made or the first leg of any flight or flights we arrange for you commences in the UK. Mainz, located on the River Rhine in Germany, has a 2000 year old history and has an ideal position for trade, which is one of the reasons why Mainz has such a historic and renowned reputation. The beautiful Mainz Cathedral dominates the Old town's city centre. The city hosts other picturesque squares and palaces and the restored half-timbered houses also make it worth a visit.

Visitors always do their shopping in the main square that houses most of the town's department stores and designer boutiques. Specialists and sophisticated stores can be find in Schillerstrasse and Ludwigsstrasse.

The Mainz markets is located on the cathedral square, in the heart of the Old Town. There you can buy fresh fruit as well as vegetables when enjoying the lively atmosphere.

Augustinerstrasse, Schönbornstrasse or Grebenstrasse are also perfect places if your would like to buy something special.

There are lots of restaurants serving traditional German food. One of these restaurants is Haus des Weins which also has a fantastic selection of wines.
