Back for the 202nd year, the ever popular festival will again be drawing millions who come to enjoy the atmosphere, entertainment, and of course the beer. Bigger and more spectacular than ever before, the festivities will be a major celebration of Oktoberfest's rich history. Oktoberfest 2012
All the traditional Oktoberfest beers are served in 1 litre Steins - but you won't hear the locals ordering a 'Stein', at Oktoberfest 2012 you order a 'Mass' (Maß) which means 'measure'. The festival attracts visitors from around the world as well as a vast array of talent including various artists, performers and musicians who combine to create a wonderfully unique experience. The bigger brother of the Munich Strong Beer Festival; the Oktoberfest draws visitors from all over the world. Of course it also draws many artists, performers and musicians. Unfortunately there aren't many opportunities for lesser known artists to perform on Oktoberfest.
A festival rule is that everyone at the table drinks together and all glasses are clinked before drinking. Not making eye contact during this exchange is regarded as rude. The word for cheers is 'Prost!'
